Runway Ready Skin: YÜLI at Marlon Gobel November 14, 2014 – Posted in: News & Press – Tags: fashion, nyfw
YÜLI had the privilege of participating in this season’s New York Fashion Week where we worked with fashion designer Marlon Gobel to execute his Spring/Summer 15 show’s vision of Transhumanism. We worked together and referenced the archives of the brilliant Stanley Kubrick to develop a beauty concept modeled on dystopian modernism.
Marlon Gobel is a designer we’ve worked with for a few seasons and we know he always books the best male models, including Cory Bond, Chad White, and Jeremy Santucci so we always have a wonderful blank canvas to work with in terms of experimenting with products on models. Although models are known for having great skin, during the fashion season, models in particular are most prone to problematic skin and require help keeping skin looking as flawless as possible with little sleep, packed schedules, high stress and an unreliable diet. By the time we see the models, many have congested or irritated skin as a result of having used so many chemicals and products from prior engagements. Male models can be especially challenging, since they rely less on makeup, the skincare truly has to shine through.
Here’s how our products were used.
Our elixirs were utilized as prepping skin conditioners to address each concern:
Panacea Elixir – for congested/oily and broken out skin that needed balancing, clarifying and refining
Cocoon Elixir – for irritated/sensitive skin that needed a pure, ultra-refined mist to calm, soothe and replenish
Metamorphic Elixir – for dry/dull skins that needed an ultra-hydrating boost to plump up skin and add life back into the complexion
Our elixirs immediately relieve stressed and fatigued skin and restoring it with renewed vigor. As testament to their power, these powerful hydro-active elixirs provided most of the skin prep that the models needed. Some models were given additional pumps of Mr. Incredible, our hybrid serum for men that fights congestion, relieves dryness, strengthens skin, increases circulation, evens skin tone and provides immediate perfected radiance. Two pumps over the entire facial area locks in moisture and provides the appearance of naturally dewy skin. This gets skin ready and the make-up artists we worked with agree: “very good skincare means very little make-up needs to be used“.
